186,010 pharmacy technicians were employed by health and personal care stores, 56,050 worked in general medical and surgical hospitals, and 24,730 were in other general merchandise stores. Grocery stores accounted for 23,410 technicians and department stores had 17,870.
Geographical Location
California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Illinois reported the highest employment level in the pharmacy technician occupation.
